We are Singing for the Mind
Singing for the Mind has many health benefits, reduces stress and is uplifting giving many people a much needed boost in confidence, creativity and problem solving. Singing helps a person who has dementia to be themselves.
We provide sessions for care homes, families and children.
Who is Singing for the Mind?
Singing for the mind is the brain child (pun intended) of Jane George.
Jane has been surrounded by music for many years.
Jane’s mission is to bring that little bit of happiness back through singing.
We know how much we love a good sing song; in the shower, in the park, in the bath, in the car so why not our care homes, village halls and community centres?
Our thoughts exactly!
What Do We Do?

We Laugh Together
Singing isn’t about getting all the notes perfectly in tune. It’s about spending time with friends and having fun

We Sing Together
Tunes new and old, whatever gets those feet tapping and those vocal chords vibrating

We Go Back in Time
We go back in time to remember

We Reduce Stress
Singing releases Oxytocin which reduces stress & anxiety
Singing in Care Homes
We specialise in coming into Care Homes in the Lincolnshire area and singing not at but with the residents so that those living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia can have a glimpse at what their life was like before their illness.
Music, melody and rhythm are some of the last things that leave a person with dementia. Even though lyrics may be forgotten; a familiar tune or rhythm can bring a smile and a memory once forgotten.
Read below for a few testimonials from Care Homes that we have worked with.
Jane is a very positive person who interacts very well with the residents, reinforcing old memories of songs learnt long ago. Singing For The Mind is great value for money and I would recommend Jane, most definitely.
“You were brilliant!”
“This is the first time I’ve heard Mary sing.”
“They love you to come and do the singing with them.”
